Structure and DesignGYTY cables feature a stranded loose tube design, where optical fibers (typically 250µm) are housed in loose tubes made of high-modulus thermoplastic materials. These tubes are filled with a water-blocking gel or compound to prevent moisture ingress, ensuring reliable signal transmission even in harsh environments.

The loose tubes and filler rods are stranded around a central strength member, which can be made of glass fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) or steel, providing tensile strength and structural stability. The cable core is completed with a polyethylene (PE) outer sheath, which offers mechanical protection and resistance to environmental factors such as UV radiation, temperature variations, and moisture. In non-armored versions, GYTY cables are lightweight and non-metallic, making them suitable for installation in ducts, underground, or aerially with self-supporting structures.
