Verify Configuration

Check the interface status: CodeCopydisplay interface gigabitethernet 1/0/4 Look for FORCE FIBER to confirm the interface is operating in optical mode. 5.

Save Configuration

Save the configuration to ensure it persists after a reboot: CodeCopysave 6.

Additional Considerations

If using high-bandwidth interfaces (e.g., 40GE), you may need to configure interface split to divide the port into multiple 10GE interfaces. After splitting, save and restart the switch for the configuration to take effect. Ensure the optical module type and wavelength match the remote device for proper communication.
