Huawei lays its own optical cables

Huawei develops advanced optical cables, including hybrid copper-fiber cables, active optical cables (AOC), and submarine cables, enabling high-speed, long-distance, and flexible network deployment.

Hybrid Copper-

Fiber CablesHuawei's hybrid optical-electrical cables combine optical fibers with copper wires in a single cable, allowing simultaneous data transmission and Power over Ethernet (PoE) delivery. These cables overcome the 100-meter Ethernet limit, supporting ultra-long-distance PoE++ power supply up to 300 meters and 10Gbps data rates. They are lightweight, flexible, and easy to deploy without extensive site surveys.

Huawei offers multiple versions: V1. 0: Optical fibers and copper separated at termination. V1.

5: Mixed separation and integration for specific scenarios. V2. 0: Fully integrated fibers and copper, recommended for most deployments.

Active Optical Cables (AOC)Huawei's AOC cables integrate optical modules and fibers for high-speed data center interconnections. Common models include SFP+, SFP28, QSFP+, and QSFP28, supporting connections between servers, switches, and storage devices. These cables reduce power consumption, simplify installation, and meet the growing bandwidth demands of cloud computing and data centers.

Submarine and Long-

Distance Optical Cables

Huawei also leads in submarine optical cable technology, exemplified by the PEACE cable spanning 15,000 kilometers. These cables are fully Chinese-led in design, construction, and maintenance, providing secure, high-capacity international data transmission. Huawei's submarine cables have reshaped global digital infrastructure, bypassing traditional nodes and enabling efficient long-distance connectivity.

Optical Distribution Networks (ODN)Huawei's ODN 3. 0 solution enhances fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) networks with pre-connection, cascading, and uneven optical splitting technologies. This approach reduces installation complexity, minimizes faults, and ensures reliable optical power distribution to end users.

Advantages of Huawei Optical CablesHigh-speed transmission: Supports 10Gbps and beyond.

Long-distance Po

E: Powers devices like Wi-Fi 6/7 APs without local power. Flexible deployment: Lightweight, small diameter, and easy to cut or terminate. Cost-effective: Reduces cabling workload and installation costs.

Global reach: Submarine cables enable secure international connectivity. Huawei's optical cable solutions are widely used in enterprise networks, data centers, and international submarine networks, combining innovative optical-electrical synergy, high reliability, and scalable deployment.
