Cable tray diagonal bracing and seismic support

Technical overview of seismic cable tray design considerations including bracing splice reinforcement movement accommodation cable retention and support verification. High-seismicity projects place much greater demands on cable tray systems than ordinary installations. Cable tray runs in seismic zones need more than normal hanger spacing. A standard trapeze support carries gravity load; it does not reliably stop lateral sway, longitudinal movement, anchor pullout, or cable spill during ground motion. A coordinated seismic bracing system uses strut channels. An innovative bracing system was designed to provide lateral bracing for the cable tray system. Our strong legacy includes OSHPD OPA and OPM approvals, Structural Engineer approvals, and compliance with Internation-al Building.
